Bay St Louis, Mississippi

One of my favourite discoveries on the US road trip of the deep south was a small town called Bay St Louis in Mississippi. We had travelled from Mobile (a fantastic town very much like a sleepy New Orleans) to a place called Biloxi where we had intended to stay the night. On arrival in Biloxi it was apparent that the town wasn't what we had expected with mainly casinos so we carried on down the coast (gulf of mexico) to see what we could find.

We had almost given up when we accidentally drove into Bay St Louis and what a fantastic discovery it was! The locals were so friendly if a little intrigued as to why three brits were in town! We discovered that Bay Saint Louis was devastated by Hurricane Katrina in August 2005 and the town was still re-building years on. We were all a little sad to leave what was one of the high-lights of the trip!

Here are a few snap shots of the town and local area. All photos were shot on Canon G1X.

Manchester Northern Quarter Streets

It was a lovely evening in the Northern Quarter today and a nice opportunity for a early evening stroll. Here are a few little iPhone pictures from the walk..

Night Driving

The VW night driving advert from 2007, I still love this advert and never tire of it. It inspires you to want to go out and do some night driving although I like my sleep far too much to even consider dragging myself out of bed in the early hours for a night drive! Love the concept though and the calming feeling you get when you watch...

Richard Burton provides the voiceover: an excerpt from the Dylan Thomas play for voices: “Under Milk Wood”.
