Architectural Visualisation

I love 3D visualisation.... I work with architects and property developers to help visualise their designs and ideas. I create a 3D model of their building on the computer and try to make it look as realistic as possible using software called Cinema 4D and Vray. The computer images are usually used for marketing a development before it is built although sometimes I'm needed to help produce a CGI (computer generated image) to gain planning permission.

I've been doing it for many years now and it is my day job. The image above is one of my latest personal projects it is a copy of a Mr and Mrs Smith Hotel bathroom. I saw the original photo on Mr&Mrssmith.com and fell in love with the space instantly. I decided to set myself the challenge to try and re-create the space in 3D and replicate the look of the real photograph of the room. The image below is the photo of the real space, the image above is the computer image.

What do you think is it close to the real photo?

There's something about Elle...

Is it just me or does every fashion obsessed girl get a tingle of excitement when they see the latest front cover of Elle magazine? No other magazine compares.. and I couldn't contain my excitement when I bought the February edition featuring the beautiful Natalie Portman. Quite possibly my favourite cover to date, those soft tones and pastel colours work a treat. I like it so much I'm thinking of getting it printed poster size to display on the wall. Or maybe I'm just taking it a little too far!??
